EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING
OCA promotes hands-on learning through field trips that enhance classroom learning. These are examples of some of the experiential learning our students may take part in at OCA:
Program for Bayside Home
Local Maple Syrup Farm
Island Traps
Black Loyalist Heritage Centre
The Ovens Discovery Centre
Acadian Village
Archeleus Smith Museum
Chapel Hill Museum
Barrington Arena for skating
Sandy Wickens Memorial Arena
Field Trips
OCA students are active and love to engage in activities outside of the classroom. Examples of activities that OCA students enjoy include soccer, free play, hiking, and music. OCA values leadership development and offers them opportunities to lead others through a variety of tasks.
Student Life
OCA loves their local community. Our students serve in a variety of ways including beach garbage pick-up, visit with and sing to the Seniors at Bayside Home, and do other random acts of kindness.
