STATEMENT OF FAITH
The Bible
We believe that the Bible, as originally given by God, (composed of the Protestant Old and New Testaments) was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs about life and reality. It is inspired by God, therefore it is truth without error.
The Trinity
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
The Son
We believe in Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, fully God and fully man. He died on a cross and was buried, to be a sacrifice for all human sin, and to reconcile us to God. We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of Jesus, in His bodily ascension into Heaven, and in His present life there for us as High Priest and Advocate.
The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is coequal with the Father and the Son of God. He is present in the world to make people aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He provides Christians with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right.
Humanity
We believe that mankind was created in the image of God, that mankind sinned and as a result is subject now both to physical death and spiritual death. We believe all people are born with a sinful nature which separates us from God and places us under future judgement.
Salvation
We believe that only through faith in the person and work of Jesus Christ and repentance from sin can one be reconciled to God.
The Nature of Evil
We believe in the existence of Satan and evil powers in the spiritual realm, and that all these have been defeated through Christ's death and resurrection.
The Second Coming
We believe in the second coming of Jesus as he will return personally, visibly, and at an unknown time to Earth to bring to fully reality the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth.
Eternity
People will exist eternally with or without God. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life in Heaven.
Baptism
Baptism is symbolic of our death to our old nature and resurrection to new life in Christ. Jesus instructed the we be baptized once we accept him as Lord and Savoir as a public declaration of our new relationship with him
Marriage, Sexuality, and Gender
We believe that God has established biblical marriage to be exclusively between one man and one woman. While we do not condemn people for having same-sex attraction, we believe the Bible teaches that all sexual activity is to be confined to the marriage covenant between one man and one woman.
We believe Gender is biologically and spiritually determined at birth. Therefore, we do not affirm attempted changes to one’s gender identity. That being said, we believe the Bible teaches us to treat everyone with the love and grace of Jesus Christ, without judgment.
The Church
We believe that the Church consists of the people of Christ sent into the world to be Christ’s representatives on the earth to declare the good news of the new life he offers us. We believe that consistent participation in the local church is a necessary part of our Christian lives.
